Trends & Grandmas

The trends
seem to be all about cold clean lines,
facing forward, hard surfaces, variations of densities.

What does that mean for
grandmas with squishy laps,
gardens of pastel, warm hearts, time?

Trends ebb and flow,
needs of children do not.
What does that mean for this grandma?

We will go 'A Wondering',
read of fairies on fluffy pillows, traipse the colorful paths,
change directions and our minds with the wind...

No matter the tide of trends.

Hi guys!
Going 'A Wondering' with a small child, meaning simply following their lead, takes me into an almost magical space. 'A Wondering' is only allowed when out in nature, usually involving little conversation. Time and adult demands have no place there. It draws you in allowing a glimpse into how they view the world. Like both of us sharing a cozy bubble of love. Ever watch an ant hill for several minutes while lying on your stomach, or read seventeen books deep in the woods?... Take my word for it, not very trendy, but oh so satisfying.

Love,
Kim

Hi Kim,
Ahhh...now if only I had a little one here to wander with! :sunflower: Maybe I can take on the mind of a child and see the world in their way anyway.
Have fun with you tiny little leader.
Love,
Sandy

Sandy and all,
Speaking of grandmas! We welcomed granddaughter number two into the world on May 21! :baby Just as sweet as she can be! :love My daughter-in-law being a size zero, delivered the 8 lb 2 oz, 20 inch long baby in five hours! Dave and I wondered if it was a coincidence she was born exactly nine months after the eclipse(that we traveled so far to see) and her name is Nova! Tiny is being the best big sister ever. :loves

Some day I'll have two fairy princesses to go A Wondering with!

Love to all!
Kim

P.S. Working on a poem about the day she was born, but life has been wackadoodle crazy the past couple of months!!!

It sounds like little baby and Mom are doing great. Life is good. :bana:

Give her a little peck on the cheek for me... May she be blessed and blessed and blessed... :happy

Hi, guys!

Nova is so sweet! A very content baby. I'm taking the summer off from the Center to help Dan and Rachel with the motel. It's a family affair, will be working with Aleah and able to see my daring granddaughters almost every day! Not to mention being able to jump in the bay on those scorching days.

The Fairy Flowers are blooming again! Clementine and I will have to teach Nova the song I wrote last year.

Hope this day brings you peace and happiness.

Love,
Kim

Hi Kim,
Nova...that's a lovely name for the little sprite. :sunflower: I just looked up some of the meanings of the name Nova...One of them..The Native American meaning of the name Nova was, "Chases Butterflies". :sunflower: :sunflower: :sunflower: Yep... she is going to fit in quite well with you, Tiny and the fairies that surround your adventures together.

It sounds as if you are set up for the summer... family, that gorgeous scenery and the cooling waters of the bay. Winter seems years away I bet. That's what I always loved about our place in the Northern hemisphere. .. The way nothing was set in stone. If you don't like the extreme weather you know it will pass in just a couple of short months.
