Our Journey Begins

Our journey begins with that very first breath.
The light of life beckons,
coerced from the cocoon,
thrust into it's harshness.
We must each waken...becoming a watcher, doer, being timid or brave,
to skip, stumble, falter, stand with pride,
facing each and every day, swimming or drowning, coasting or adjusting,
drawing in life's sweetness or pain.
The Shard of Light
nestled within the depths,
is patient..., gently, steadily reminding,
"Dear one..., remember to stay the course."
