Fallacious Drives

Post any poetry here. It's just too hard to define "inspired" in this context, so we will settle for that which inspires.

Fallacious Drives

Post by overmind »

One must start somewhere,
So let me start here
By showing my disgust
In a disgruntled fuss.
Lack, considerable levels of it,
Is what I read into others.
A lack of thought
And depth of reasoning.
I have yet to see one ask
Why such reasoning for why is so,
And when such thoughts fade
From future lapses in ignorance.
I have yet to peer into a mind
Where black, white and gray
Are not fixations of being
Or truths worth bearing.
Logic becomes a word coined
For the sake of servitude
To blank levels of cognition.
Face value is the only one present
As values drive not the soul of progress.
And I am to stand amidst a sea of shadows
And blank stares.
But I cannot share my share of empathy
With the pathetic and empty.
This is a crime of all proportions.

This poem was simply a way to vent my anger after looking at a considerable lack of human thought where it should have been most appropriate.

I wish I could vent like that! :D As I read it the first time, I was wondering if you had recently had an encounter with someone sporting, "blank levels of cognition."
I suppose I too wear that label from time to time. Sometimes it's there under my cloak and I don't even know it. ;)
hugs and once again well done! Your poetry just keeps getting better and better!!! (Of course, it has always been good. :thumright: )
