“Hope” is the thing with feathers — by Emily Dickinson

Post any poetry here. It's just too hard to define "inspired" in this context, so we will settle for that which inspires.

“Hope” is the thing with feathers — by Emily Dickinson

“Hope” is the thing with feathers -
That perches in the soul -
And sings the tune without the words -
And never stops - at all -

And sweetest - in the Gale - is heard -
And sore must be the storm -
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm -

I’ve heard it in the chillest land -
And on the strangest Sea -
Yet - never - in Extremity,
It asked a crumb - of me.

Welles,
So light and beautiful!

I just love Emily Dickinson! :D ... and that one encourages me to make a friend of sweet hope again.

Thank you Welles...

Is everything okay fire-wise in your area. You have been on my mind lately when I saw fires in the vicinity of Santa Barbara.

love,
Sandy
