Ima Nibbler

Post by Amigoo »

8) Hmmm ... this topic was first conceived to complement UB Cookin', to share food conservation tips including MaxC where food scraps, sometimes mysteriously, get recycled as food. Interestingly, a shared "nibble" of the UB revelation from time to time may be complementary. And there's no humor prohibition ... besides one man's discards may be another's nutritious feast.

:!: Entrepreneur Alert: "Ima Nibbler"

... makes a good badge, pendant, bumper sticker, etc., to promote the concept of food conservation in general. A convincing focus: When food is very limited for a meal, parents' first course is the food not consumed by their children ... then supplemented with whatever. Or, food normally discarded (e.g., fresh pineapple skin) is saved for later nibbling by the family's designated Nibbler(s). Even meats with bones (e.g., chicken) often provide sufficient edibles for dedicated (and patient) Nibblers.

 Piranha teeth would make a good logo for the Ima Nibbler promotion.

Interesting timing of this Rod,
Just last week I think it was the contestants in Masterchef were asked to make the best "cheffy" kind of meal from leftover scraps often found in the average home kitchen. I missed the show but now really wishing I hadn't.

Yes I think I could wear an Ima Nibbler Badge with authenticity. I am especially a mango skin nibbler...

Sandy,

For a logo, a cartoon piranha seems kinder and gentler:

(the teeth outline should be a bit darker)

 This photo is good for a T-Shirt with "Ima Nibbler" printed below.
And 1111angels.com might offer it for sale (in a "Products" forum?)
See "Licensing, Prints & Other Options" on the linked page.

Who knew? "Some piranhas are vegetarians."

A piranha can symbolize determination to survive and thrive. 8)

High-Rise Paleo

Post by Amigoo »

"High-Rise Paleo" has an appealing sound and alludes to food/preparation that relates to modern life ... even within a high-rise residence in a bustling city. Since paleo cave dwellers would not live as their ancestral tree dwellers, high-risers need not live as cave dwellers (but some modern caves are quite comfortable!).

Got modern paleo? You be high-risin'!

Layered Goat Salad

Layered Goat Salad

 Hmmm ... a near-vegetarian promoting a goat salad?!
Just whimsical allusion to two forms of goat milk (feta cheese
and goat milk yogurt) used to dress a "paleo" medley of veggies.

About the goat stuff ("Crumbled Goat Yogurt"):
Crumble goat feta and mix with goat yogurt (about 1 cup : 2 1/2 cups)

About the veggies: Whatever you prefer! ;)

:roll This evening's salad (as layered):
- thin-sliced baby carrots
- coarsely chopped cucumber
- cherry tomatoes
- Crumbled Goat Yogurt
- coarse black pepper
- fresh Italian parsley

Accompanied by plain whole-grain toast.

 How does this relate to Ima Nibbler?
Ask me later when I'm not nibblin' LGS.

Sandy,

There's nothing to prevent recipes posted on Ima Nibbler from appearing in UB COOKIN' INDEX
... unless the Busy Bee has too much hive to manage. ;)

Hi Rod,
I'll keep an eye on Ima Nibbler thread too in regards to the Recipe Index. no worries.

I got a bit side tracked reading about Piranhas. They are an interesting and versatile fish as they are able to change their diet to suite the conditions at hand. For instance there was a river in new Guinea that hadn't much in the way of substantial fish for the native tribes... Well still hard to believe in this day and age after so many disasters from introducing foreign species to a given ecosystem that any government agency would even consider this...But they did introduce Pacus which are a mostly vegetarian very close relative to the Piranha that can get quite large... I suppose the idea was to introduce a potential good eating fish but what they didn't bet on was the fish changing its habits and becoming a threat to the natives living up and down the river. Probably due to shortages of the food to fuel their vegetarian lifestyle.

And Jeremy Wade has found some areas on the Amazon that people do not swim because the piranhas are so dangerous... which tells me that they are not the same temperament the world over.

Well anyway...that was a great piranha illustration..very colorful if not cuddley. LOL
