Re: "how the UB authors use words" (comment from another blog), "Verily, verily", and the KJV:

I believe that "Verily, verily", since recorded by the Bible authors (specifically, the Book of John, long predating the UB) was probably Jesus' own words ... possibly recorded a few more times than used by Jesus (if the UB is more accurate about Jesus' use of this expression).

:o And here's evidence that the Bible authors of Matthew and Mark also used this Greek word ἀμήν in their writings, but only in John (apparently) is the ἀμήν ἀμήν superlative form used: http://biblehub.com/greek/281.htm

"2. it came to be used as an adverb by which something is asserted or confirmed:

a. at the beginning of a discourse, surely, of a truth, truly; so frequent in the discourses of Christ in Matthew, Mark, and Luke: ἀμήν λέγω ὑμῖν 'I solemnly declare unto you,' e. g. Matthew 5:18; Mark 3:28; Luke 4:24. The repetition of the word (ἀμήν ἀμήν), employed by John alone in his Gospel (twenty-five times), has the force of a superlative, most assuredly: John 1:51 ."

;) ;) I recall a childhood song that used the very rare, super superlative form:

"Row row row your boat, gently down the stream
ἀμήν ἀμήν ἀμήν ἀμήν, life is but a dream."

 A UB author's definition of “Verily, verily” - “Let me emphatically state this eternal truth”

An intriguing example of one of Jesus' lessons, probably “restated in modern phraseology” (*, re: 144:4.1), but seemingly such lesson wherein Jesus would have used "Verily, verily" to introduce his discourse:

:study: “Let me emphatically state this eternal truth: If you, by truth co-ordination, learn to exemplify in your lives this beautiful wholeness of righteousness, your fellow men will then seek after you that they may gain what you have so acquired. The measure wherewith truth seekers are drawn to you represents the measure of your truth endowment, your righteousness. The extent to which you have to go with your message to the people is, in a way, the measure of your failure to live the whole or righteous life, the truth-co-ordinated life.” (155:1.5)

The final sentence seems salient guidance - even today - on UB dissemination focus and effort. ;)

* apparent allusion to the Midwayer Commission which compiled Part IV, the revelatory group sometimes designated "UB author" (IMO).
