Thanks Rod,
I appreciate that suggestion. Anytime you wish a recipe to specifically go into that category please let me know. I'm afraid I may tend to forget about it in my quest to find the category most in line with its' ingredients. I'll go ahead and put black seed crunch there now.

I'm a bit behind in replacing the missing recipes in the index. :oops: But hopefully it will be complete again in the near future.

Hi Rod,
I just changed the index in relation to the Fresh Cilantro Pesto. As I mentioned on the UB cooking thread, I made that recipe last night, adding some parmessan as you suggested. it was really good and much better on celery then the dips I bought for that purpose. (Much healthier too I imagine. :D )

I'm now convinced that it's too easy to consume a lot of psyllium with this recipe
... and too much psyllium is not so healthy! Please discard the recipe.

Probably too restrictive, but more than 2 tablespoons a day may be too much,
especially if the psyllium is not consumed in balance with water.

Oh wow! Thank you Rod. I did not know that consuming too much psyllium husks could be harmful. I will discard the recipe and keep an eye on our own consumption.

Sandy,

Apparently, the usual problem with psyllium is not drinking enough water for the amount of psyllium consumed.
However, psyllium is just soluble fiber (mostly) ... and one's diet does not need to include excess soluble fiber. ;)

Hi Rod,
I've been on a very low carb diet the past month and so the psyllium husks have been helpful adding that fiber that was missing with my elimination of flour products and heavy starches. I am glad you mentioned the water because I am not the best water drinker on the planet. I think water also helps to get rid of the byproduct of Ketosis (sp.?) too???? Been a long time since I did Adkins.

Okay off to get a large glass of water. Bleah!

Sandy,

The first No-Cook Tomato Sauce recipe can be discarded.

I just noticed that, since I've been getting sufficient "lubrication" with 2 tsp coconut MCT oil per day (in morning coffee), I have ignored the psyllium for months. However, 1-2 tsp per day (and still using MCT) may be an even better solution! ... maybe start back with 1 tsp mixed with some of my morning green tea, with the rest of the warm tea as a chaser. ;- )

I tried to post the Blueberry chia pudding URL into the index and got a surprise. There is a limit of 60000 characters in individual posts. I exceeded it by 37 characters. So we cannot add any more posts to the index. Soooo I am thinking what if we make a UB COOKING INDEX 2

I had a feeling you would have the right of it. ;)

Yes this division makes sense to me and, in fact, could make it easier to find what you are looking for.
I'll get onto it. As far as I can see we can carry the UB cooking thread into infinity. So we can continue to post new recipes to go into the indexes there.

I just want to remind everyone who read these food and recipe threads that we welcome recipes that are not copywritten material from other's cooking blog, web sites etc. . If you do have such a recipe, though, you can describe the food product and then post a URL to the person's blog or website.
