Re: Messages from Celestial Teachers - “The Master, Tibet, and India”

 Analysis:
Consider the significance of Jesus' teachings (delivered before the New Testament)
being found in faraway places, places where believers were the actual deliverers
of those teachings! Such propagation of J' teachings is the norm today. ;)

On another UB blog, this comment was posted regarding why children today are less interested in religion: "... it simply may be that younger people are not interested in becoming involved in obsolete forms of social organization which are fading in relevance because of radical changes in the way people communicate and participate in community."

 So, I wondered if I had any topical insight ... then viewed several internet pages to get focus:

Re: "radical changes in the way people communicate and participate in community"

 At first, this reality seemed to suggest a solution (adapt to these "radical changes"). But then the question arises: does this communication/participation include "religion"? If not, such adaption is only part of the solution. That children are not attracted to modern religion seems factual, but where to begin? I browsed several web pages to get focus:

- https://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/ ... kids-study
- http://www.slate.com/articles/health_an ... magic.html
- https://www.amazon.com/Parenting-Withou ... s_li_ss_tl

- http://www.huffingtonpost.com/devon-cor ... 37893.html
"Easter has been a time for chocolate bunnies and a celebration of spring. Christmas in my world is about the food, time with family, carols and general good cheer."

Hmmm ... This comment hints that commercialism of religious holidays further dilutes the significance of the holiday. And not-so-subtle governmental pressure for political correctness guides public celebration of the holiday to the "lowest common denominator" of religious expression.

Also, to the extent that we promote commercialism in our own celebrations, we communicate to children that the religious foundation of the holiday is less significant. Yet, definition of a religious holiday should not derive primarily from product marketing promoted by mass media :!:

 With both Christmas (certainly) and Easter (nearly) a lost cause, more meaningful religious holidays should help define the "new & improved" religions of the 21st century, holidays that will (hopefully) depend on less materialism for those celebrations.

:sunny: Speaking of Christmas ...

The UB's August 21 is the current runner-up for a substitute date ... since many people do not believe that Jesus was born December 25. And "Xristmas"* (but pronounced "Christmas") would be better spelling for the way this holiday is now celebrated (even by some Christians) in this era of influential commercialism.

* the 'X' might symbolize ribbon-wrapped presents, often exchanged during this holiday. :D

August 21 needs a new holiday name - let's create a list! Names should allude to "creator of our universe" rather than "the risen Christ" ... especially since "risen Christ" did not occur until long after Jesus' (Michael's) Urantia incarnation. ;)

 In order to appeal to all faiths, this holiday might be the symbolic yearly celebration of the birth of every mortal on 606! Especially, the birthday celebration of all believers who've accepted Jesus' invitation to "Follow me" ... even to the mansion worlds and beyond.

Regarding a "one world religion" ...

:study: Re: "Notwithstanding that all Creator Sons are divinely like their Paradise parents, none exactly resembles another; each is unique, diverse, exclusive, and original in nature as well as in personality. And since they are the architects and makers of the life plans of their respective realms, this very diversity insures that their domains will also be diverse in every form and phase of Michael-derived living existence which may be created or subsequently evolved therein. Hence the orders of creatures native to the local universes are quite varied..." (21:2.10)

 Considering that the UB promotes desirability of uniqueness, diversity, and exclusivity of Creator Sons, a symbolic parallel is suggested for our planet's religions: an infinite God would prefer similar variety in the religious expressions of individuals as well as of groups small and large. Thus, a one world religion would hardly be desirable by the Father of all ... but a one world forum(s) wherein those unique, diverse, and exclusive expressions of religion (including worship) are shared would be a sublime goal. ;)

 Until a Urantia group becomes a religion, that podium of fifth epochal revelation is limited to an advisory - even inspirational - role, external to organized religion. Would alignment of formal UB groups anticipate that a greater (composite) UB "advisor" will emerge? And would such alignment still permit unique, diverse, and exclusive expressions of revelatory advice and inspiration by the integrated groups and individuals?

8) Re: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/ ... right.html

"The famous 'ascent of man' image showing humankind's evolution may actually be the wrong way round, says Professor Robin Crompton.

"Speaking at the British Science Festival in Swansea, the scientist outlined his theory that humans, apes and chimpanzees evolved from a common ancestor that walked upright and lived in the trees."

 But UB readers knew that ...

"With the passing of time the seacoast of India southwest of the mountains gradually submerged, completely isolating the life of this region. There was no avenue of approach to, or escape from, this Mesopotamian or Persian peninsula except to the north, and that was repeatedly cut off by the southern invasions of the glaciers. And it was in this then almost paradisiacal area, and from the superior descendants of this lemur type of mammal, that there sprang two great groups, the simian tribes of modern times and the present-day human species. Subject: “Invitation to Stand in the Gap.”

"Receiver’s note: After receiving the message, I had to open the Urantia Book to check the spelling of our constellation, 'Norlatiadek.' As I thumbed through the papers, I stopped at paper 43, section 1, 'The Constellation Headquarters.' As I scrolled through the text looking for the spelling, my eyes stopped on the words, 'sea of glass.' This is what it says: '… A crystal field on this order is found on almost all architectural worlds; and it serves many purposes aside from its decorative value, being utilized for portraying superuniverse reflectivity to assembled groups ..."

 The powerful symbolism of a "sea of glass" in this final paragraph of the message caught my attention ... for such a physical structure (3' diameter or larger?) might be especially unifying when interspiritual groups meet for prayer and worship.

For such assemblies, the symbolism would represent mortal interconnectedness as well as an open portal to spiritual forces and beings in the universe. That no religion incorporates such a "sea of glass" would make it more inviting to those who comprehend the symbolism ... without ascribing distracting realism (this is not a real portal).

 Imagine! Such a symbolic "sea of glass" might become a powerful emblem for the desired unification (if only momentary) of the assembled religious groups, groups who all worship the same Father above.

:sunny: [Reflection on the trend in some religions to avoid discussion about Jesus and new perspective on the UB as two volumes (I was considering how the Bible is used in church services and related gatherings)]

Just an unsettling transition to the "new & improved" Jesus, as revealed by epochal revelation. That related historical institutions (and terminology) may fade away shall be a passing concern to new spiritual centers and their Revelation-inspired leaders.

 Speaking of "new & improved" and "new spiritual centers" ...

It's time to publish the Urantia Book as two volumes (Parts I-III and Part IV), but with no intent to disguise Part IV as a separate book. This will permit Jesus-focused religious groups to use Part IV for services and other gatherings without the bulkiness of the entire Book (albeit the first volume can be widely available in these groups). Duplication of the Index for both volumes would be practical ... and a Part IV Table of Contents would be helpful.

Also, Paper 119 is really an introduction to Part IV and might be included in both Part III and Part IV. And we should note that the Jesus of Parts I-III is Michael - not the incarnated Jesus on Urantia (as presented by Part IV). ;)

At least, let's experiment with the concept and have a few hundred copies printed (perhaps, using Amazon's "On-Demand" print facility). And if Part IV has frequent usage in services, etc., heavier paper (than in the published single volumes) will be important.

Re: http://aitnaru.org/images/Son_of_Man_Son_of_God.pdf

This PDF* was created a year ago for digital display,
includes Paper 119, and has "point & click" linkage
to the Papers from the Table of Contents. 8)

Unlike other digital UB files, page breaks do not occur
within paragraphs (great for digital display). :roll

Wisdom: The future is digital (especially for searching);
escort this file to your digital media. ;)

 This is a LARGE file - downloading and opening
with a PDF reader (instead browser Add-On) is best.

Sandy,

Thanks for the jazzy flower!

 I soon realized that if you're reading a digital UB,
the device could store the entire UB ... plus more! ;)
But a Part IV PDF is still a useful resource since
it keeps focus on Jesus and his teachings. :roll

(this PDF has 26 more pages than the printed Part IV
because of the page-break adjustment)

 ... and notice how such stories promote linkage of humans: This family is not first perceived as "the Communists" but other humans who love animals.

Which suggests that grassroots interaction of humans is equally important to peace promotion as is the work of organized groups. And herein may be subtle guidance for UB dissemination: focus more on and nurture grassroots interaction of truth seekers and bearers. ;)

 Curious, why "Son of Man" and "son of man" (only in Part I) should be so emphasized (these terms occur in 196 paragraphs),
I found two paragraphs that seem to explain the emphasis:

:study: "Your own races of surviving mortals belong to this group of the ascending Sons of God. You are now planetary sons, evolutionary creatures derived from the Life Carrier implantations and modified by the Adamic-life infusion, hardly yet ascending sons; but you are indeed sons of ascension potential — even to the highest heights of glory and divinity attainment — and this spiritual status of ascending sonship you may attain by faith and by freewill co-operation with the spiritualizing activities of the indwelling Adjuster. When you and your Adjusters are finally and forever fused, when you two are made one, even as in Christ Michael the Son of God and the Son of Man are one, then in fact have you become the ascending sons of God." (40:7.2)

See also: http://www.theub.org/part-ii.html#P040_7_2

:study: "The first stage of Adjuster evolution is attained in fusion with the surviving soul of a mortal being. Thus, while you are in nature evolving inward and upward from man to God, the Adjusters are in nature evolving outward and downward from God to man; and so will the final product of this union of divinity and humanity eternally be the son of man and the son of God." (109:1.5)

See also: http://www.theub.org/part-iii.html#P109_1_5

After adjuster fusion and upon arrival in Paradise, we will "eternally be the son of man and the son of God". 8)

Hi Rod,
Well... one can form their own ideas as to the truth of this and of course believe what they want, but it is fairly widespread knowledge in the Teaching Mission that the Lucifer rebellion was adjudicated in 1984 and Satan is no more. Our "sources" too seem to confirm this. So I embrace with relief that that whole sorry business can be put behind us and it is onward and upwards toward Light and Life for our beautiful Urantia. We are still going to have to work our backsides off now, though, each in our own capacity. All of us are important as we live our lives in progressive love for this goal to materialize Some day for future generations.

Oh, the Lucifer adjudication! :duh I didn't recall what I've read about this adjudication when contemplating the Satanist article.

As I wondered if the planet would benefit from a more explanatory communiqué (like UB Paper) about the adjudication,
I realized that it's important for religions of authority (in particluar) to have Lucifer, et al. still available for blame.

:study: Re: http://board.1111angels.com/viewtopic.p ... an#p169074

"For a time, the unsuccessful Paradise pilgrim’s doubtful reputation or the knowledge of a sad demise, may well survive in time-space, whilst on Paradise, where all time ‘converges’, they will have never been known."

This helps explain why Satan, et al., have not yet become "no more" on Urantia.

"and on a massage table was the sleeping subject I presumed to be Edgar Cayce."

 George, is this your presumption today?

The many transcriptions of Edgar Cayce's channeling include wording and personal expression that is unlike the channeled UB material (by the sleeping subject). And with the many known details of Edgar's life, it's difficult to correlate any such interaction (as the "sleeping subject") with Dr. Sadler ... but a few meetings of Dr. Sadler and Edgar Cayce could have occurred.

The many published details of Cayce's life do not appear to support scenarios where Cayce could have spent much time in Chicago with Dr. Sadler (as did the sleeping subject - and his wife - for many years). Also, those same details do not describe a man who would have had the education and ability to be a member of the Chicago Board of Trade (as recorded in the UB's history).

Re: Edgar Cayce Readings CD-ROM

I owned these CDs (there were two several decades ago) and read many of the readings over the years, but did not find a single reading that would have caused me to believe that Edgar was the sleeping subject (I had been reading the UB plus its archived material long before finding these Cayce CDs).

By the way, the stories about Cayce describe his giving readings on a couch - not massage table.
Maybe "massage table" refers to a channeling session of Cayce for the examination benefit of Dr. Sadler.

 A final thought about Edgar Cayce as "sleeping subject" ...

The greatest evidence that Cayce could not have been the sleeping subject is the fact that this "fifth epochal revelation" was delivered by process - not as completed Papers (whether voiced by the sleeping subject or simply appearing in Dr. Sadler's safe). Several decades of weekly meetings were required to share the Papers with the Group of Seventy to get feedback for subsequent revision of the Papers by the celestial overseers of the project.

The details of Cayce's life, as recorded in various articles and books, do not support frequent interaction of Cayce and Dr. Sadler over many years. Further, any UB-destined communication from Cayce would have been delivered to the Contact Commission (Drs. Sadler, Christy, et al.) and not just to Dr. Sadler. So these Commission members would also have known about any significant Cayce participation in the birthing of our planet's recent revelation.
