Paper 72 Government On A Neighboring Planet

Post by Sandy »

Hi everybody,
I kept meaning to mention this and sort of forgot, but a couple weeks ago one of our members, Reluctantmesiah, posted this thread in Misc. forum. ( thread gone ) In it she gave a URL of a very earth-like planet that scientists have discovered relatively close to us in light years anyway.

Well later that night I was flipping through my Urantia book not sure exactly what I wanted to read and came across this lovely paper, Paper 72 Government On A Neighboring Planet. http://www.urantia.org/urantia-book-sta ... ing-planet I found it fascinating and couldn’t help wondering if we were viewing this planet on Reluctantmesiah’s thread. The odds of course are against that and it really isn't important in the grand scheme of things, but still, it was fun to think about. (I've always been a bit of a dreamer  )
Love,
Sandy

Very Cool Sandy! It is very easy to imagine that the planed discussed in this paper is the one Reluctantmesiah posted about. I wonder why this description was deemed important to be included in the Urantia book? The conclusion suggests that our planet
Urantia is therefore far better prepared for the more immediate realization of a planetary government with its laws, mechanisms, symbols, conventions, and language — all of which could contribute so mightily to the establishment of world-wide peace under law and could lead to the sometime dawning of a real age of spiritual striving; and such an age is the planetary threshold to the utopian ages of light and life.

Hey Sammy Jo,
It is rather hopeful isn't it? :D And it is exciting to think that we are all doing our part and have a tiny hand in what will come to pass. Oh my  I am hearing that Rubber tree song in my head, you know, the one that Laverne and Shirley used to sing.
Here it is.... What a great song!
Love,
Sandy

High Hopes
Writer(s): Cahn/Van Heusen

Next time you're found, with your chin on the ground
There a lot to be learned, so look around

Just what makes that little old ant
Think he'll move that rubber tree plant
Anyone knows an ant, can't
Move a rubber tree plant

But he's got high hopes, he's got high hopes
He's got high apple pie, in the sky hopes

So any time you're gettin' low
'stead of lettin' go
Just remember that ant
Oops there goes another rubber tree plant

When troubles call, and your back's to the wall
There a lot to be learned, that wall could fall

Once there was a silly old ram
Thought he'd punch a hole in a dam
No one could make that ram, scram
He kept buttin' that dam

but he's got high hopes, he's got high hopes
He's got high apple pie, in the sky hopes

So any time you're feelin' bad
'stead of feelin' sad
Just remember that ram
Oops there goes a billion kilowatt dam

All problems just a toy balloon
They'll be bursted soon
They're just bound to go pop

Oops there goes another problem kerplop
Oops, there goes another problem kerplop
Oops, there goes another problem kerplop
Kerplop!

:hithere I have had a couple of very memorable dreams where I was on another world. In the first dream I witnessed a family of four standing, listening to a speaker on a stage. They seemed very quiet and respectful, but I could not help noticing that the young boy had a muzzle over his mouth. This was obviously a mass produced item and I had the distinct impression that it was intended to train him to listen and not speak. His older sister did not require this and she seemed quiet and respectful. In the second dream I actually woke up and knew I was dreaming, but the dream continued and I was able to ask questions of one of the people I met. I cannot remember much of what I was told but there seemed to be some conflict with the people on the other side of the mountain range. This was a technological culture appearently at about our level. :sunflower:

Very interesting dreams there, Roger. My parents would have loved to have had one of those muzzles as I was growing up... ;) :)
It is fascinating to think that we may very well be getting glimpses of other worlds as we sleep or in deep meditation... Whether we are or not, I suppose, some would argue the case... Yet, there is sometimes a sense of wonder and connectedness that is hard to put a finger on and why shouldn't this be possible and even appropriate? We have been reminded repeatedly that we are all ONE and that includes every being in the known and unknown universe.

On this dream note... last year I had a dream about a planet that dripped with Methane. It was much to that planet and the life there as Oxygen is to ours. I woke up and of course thought...COOL! but as the hours passed began to doubt myself and any reality to this dream glimpse. but then that evening on a documentary I learned about a moon scientists are investigating that appears to be Methane based...even supporting rivers of the stuff. It was either of Uranus or Neptune I think...Been awhile so I don't remember much about it now, only that I felt a tiny grain of satisfaction maybe even confirmation, knowing that maybe...just maybe I did indeed experience via my dream a planet in a far away solar system.

Don't you feel sometimes like we are Dorothy waking up in OZ! :bana:

You know that reminds me of a song that has been playing through my mind today...
Remember this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKx0tdlxMfY

One Tin Soldier (The Legend of Billy Jack)
by Dennis Lambert & Brian Potter, performed by The Original Caste (1970)
This song was performed by Jinx Dawson and Coven in the movie "Billy Jack" (1971)

Listen, children, to a story
That was written long ago,
'Bout a kingdom on a mountain
And the valley-folk below.

On the mountain was a treasure
Buried deep beneath the stone,
And the valley-people swore
They'd have it for their very own.

Go ahead and hate your neighbor,
Go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of Heaven,
You can justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowing
Come the judgement day,
On the bloody morning after....
One tin soldier rides away.

So the people of the valley
Sent a message up the hill,
Asking for the buried treasure,
Tons of gold for which they'd kill.

Came an answer from the kingdom,
"With our brothers we will share
All the secrets of our mountain,
All the riches buried there."

Go ahead and hate your neighbor,
Go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of Heaven,
You can justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowing
Come the judgement day,
On the bloody morning after....
One tin soldier rides away.

Now the valley cried with anger,
"Mount your horses! Draw your sword!"
And they killed the mountain-people,
So they won their just reward.

Now they stood beside the treasure,
On the mountain, dark and red.
Turned the stone and looked beneath it...
"Peace on Earth" was all it said.

Go ahead and hate your neighbor,
Go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of Heaven,
You can justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowing
Come the judgement day,
On the bloody morning after....
One tin soldier rides away.

Go ahead and hate your neighbor,
Go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of Heaven,
You can justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowing
Come the judgement day,
On the bloody morning after....
One tin soldier rides away.
