Crazy 8's

Post by inlikeflint » Thu Dec 27, 2012 1:09 am

I turned on my trusty old cellphone today and eights appeared.

It was like my phone was scrambled and it kept keying 888... like the number was jammed. I ended up with 888*8888***888* 8888... repeated until the number board ran out of room.

I H8te 8's.

The last time I received 888 was when the breakup with my girlfriend was in its stages of demise. It might as well have been 666.

Last time is was a lesson because it was a number off of school bus (I lost the love of my life, and I had to learn how to cope.). This time it was on my phone so I can only guess that I am getting ready to lose everything else and maybe this time I will get the message. (Or not, because my phone would not let me read my messages because it was stuck on 8.)

I suppose I could be gr8ful that the numbers are not on a hearse license pl8.

This was a big change for me last time I received 8's... it floored me. you can't get much lower than where I have been... but I am not one to tempt fate so, I suppose it could have been worse.

My art career is in the toilet... it never really has amounted to anything.
I've been leasing a building that is like a giant money pit.
They shut my electric off on the building today.
(Haha, I'm too L8 on my payment!)... no lights no power tools, no work.
The a-hole that I sometimes work for, I can't stand. (I may have fixed that problem a few weeks ago.) ((Midwayers have let me know that I'm a bone fide dumb-ass.))
The "art business" that I want to start is like watching a raccoon wash an ice cube.
I cant even keep and maintain a garden for very long because in the process of making something work the garden dries up and dies on me.
My gardening job is over...It's winter, & the great truck driving job helped me drive that away.

So... I keep lying to myself telling me that things are going to get better.
I've been telling myself this for the past 6 to 8 years.
Things have not gotten better.
(Maybe, I broke a mirror or inherited some sort of reverse midas touch.)

Maybe, these 888's this time means not to freak out or worry, but a lot of not worrying has helped me to the place where I am now. Maybe, the 8's are good and now I will experience getting rebounding.

When you play Crazy 8's you have to play all of your cards... I don't know what I haven't played yet.
I'm going to try to medit8, but I'm not very good at that either.

I'm frustr8d.

OMG! I'm so sorry! You had me caught between laughter and feeling so sorry for you, and I think that's how you are dealing with this too? Kinda jaded, kinda whatever, bring it on... Well, I'm getting 8's too, but the meaning for me is different... I don't want t tempt fate either, but it can only go up for me too! I'm getting 55's and 88's...we'll see? More and more, right on top of each other now,,,,I do hope everything turns out well for you...and you know you are being helped and guided through this.. :-) Peace... Vanessa

UG! I H8 to say this but I h8 8's too. The only number I can (unfortunately) say I don't doubt the meaning of... ever. I get plenty of prompts, most of which I have not been able to establish a definitive correlation to...but 8's ... ug. (Sorry Dr. M...but apparently someone else uses your number!)
So... I keep lying to myself telling me that things are going to get better.
I've been telling myself this for the past 6 to 8 years.
Things have not gotten better.
Well looky there...8 years! Perhaps this is the end of it...time for a reversal.

I do have to agree with you though about 8's meaning "don't freak out"...let's face it...does freaking out EVER help? (Remind me of this next time I'm freaking  )

Well...I am saying a little prayer for you that your 8's turn to (lol been thinking about what number to go with for 5 minutes now...so...I'll just go with) hearts :loves

Awhhh Flint,

I'm so sorry to hear how rough it has been for you these past months. I must admit it sounds pretty bleak. and I have to also add that I have been there before...not exactly in the same way, but oh boy, my own little version of "life shambles". :( This past year has been a tough one for me... With nearly loosing George to heart failure while I was on the other side of the world...adjusting to changes in our board dynamics, and longing to hold my new grandson on those days when my family and former life feel those thousands of miles away. Well it seems bad when I look back, but not as bad as I was feeling back then. Things have improved and sometimes against the odds. I just ask you to hang in there and allow...allow hope to creep back into your thoughts. Sometimes life will surprise you in a good way and it sounds like you are well over due for a good day. I guess I am an aggravating eternal optimist at least on others behalf...remind me of this when I feel like I have been shoved under the bus again.
Anyway my dear friend. You don't have to shoulder all this alone...I'm glad you spoke up.
I decided to look up what good ole Doreen Virtue, angel specialist extraordinaire, has to say about the 8's. To tell you the truth I was sort of expecting the worst... but there is a bright side. So here goes.
888 — A phase of your life is about to end, and this is a sign to give you forewarning to prepare. This number sequence may mean you are winding up an emotional career, or relationship phase. It also means there is light at the end of the tunnel. In addition, it means, "The crops are ripe. Don’t wait to pick and enjoy them." In other words, don’t procrastinate making your move or enjoying fruits of your labor.
That last bit doesn't sound so bad either..so maybe keep your eyes open for an opportunity. I am praying and hoping with crossed fingers, toes and eyes that you get some well deserved joys in the near future.
( I just saw Doc Mendoza's 08 as I finished this post. I adore this hard working Midwayer that works tirelessly for the humans on this planet... )

Inlikeflint, I second Sammy and Sandy that maybe you're getting a little comforting hello and hang in there from our good friend Dr. Mendoza. I am so sorry that you are seeing the 8s all intermixed with sad happenings, but I wonder if that's why the 8s right now -- the healer is on the case, and offering his help through this awful time. I was surprised to see your post "Crazy 8s" because I have been seeing 8 so much lately myself, I clicked on your post to see what your story was. I think he might really pop up when we're low -- I posted somewhere else on this board that I'm worried about my mom right now, and my boyfriend's father, who are both having skin cancer scares right now. And it is right now that I keep seeing the 8s. Maybe when we need healing -- or someone we love needs healing -- he pops up and offers us the 8s. Like saying hang in there, I'm with you, I'm working on it.

Something really stuck with me, about you saying your art career is in the toilet, inlikeflint. In the last couple years I've known a few artists talking like this. Art is a funny thing in today's world . . .success is down to who buys what painting, what gallery agrees to hang it, what dean of what art department agrees to hire you, what museum curator says 'ok.' But isn't true at the same time that someone can create a wonderful masterpiece, and no one on earth knows about it? It is sad and difficult and painful when you have hopes and expectations and the 'art world' doesn't agree, isn't giving you their stamp of approval. But a few artist friends of mine have received that 'no' stamp from time to time, and when I look at the work they've produced, I'm simply in awe -- I get the chills. I disagree with that 'no stamp' and it seems unfair to me. Especially because in today's art community, as we all know, there are trends. If you produce natural realism -- if you explore the countryside and are moved by what you've seen and you depict the sunset and the treetops -- this will be outright rejected, because it is not in vogue, 'it has been done.' I am in awe that we say nature 'has been done,' but that is today's trend. Whatever you are producing, it is my feeling that you are a very deep person with a yearning in your soul -- just from reading your posts -- and I can't imagine that the 'no' you receive is reflective of your talent. Whatever your style, whatever your motivation, that is unique and internal and it is so hard, waiting for it match up with what the community decides is acceptable today.

If it's all right I would love to send you healing energies and White Light -- is that all right with you? My heart goes out to you and I am wishing you peace and healing this New Year . . . for all the little pieces to fall into place and for you to feel that all is right in your world.

With love to you dear friend,
Michele :hithere  :love :roll :loves

I am like you Sandy, eternally and perhaps aggravatingly optomistic. This year has been a real emotional and spiritual whirlwind... Lots of tears and lots of joy too.... And really, wholeheartedly embrace my newfound celestial friends With great abondon and knowing full well that they really are there, with me and love me more than I can ever even imagine. .I'm not worried about my 8's... It could mean so much... End of a relationship phase would be lovely, that would mean being back together with the love of my life who's going through so much right now.... Or a more understanding relationship with my mom who is soooo difficult to get along with....I'm finally over all the hate and anger I was holding against my ex, now that my divorce is almost over...yay!!! It could mean so much, and I know I'm almost there.. Getting lots of 58's and 555's and 88's always followed by 7's along the way... I'm ready for a life change.... I need it ... I have faith that God is preparing a miracle for me...:-).... Who is Dr. Mendoza? :?:

Thank you to everyone that replied.
I have adopted you as my default support group!
(Because no one else will understand the time prompts...)

I had more eights today in a forum I frequent and they were talking about coins and pieces of eight. (Pieces = bits... as in, "Shave & a haircut = Two bits.")

I have to make a leap of faith and make this business that I am trying to start work in the next few weeks.
Incipient panic describes the feeling I have.
(It should build character.)

This is either going to work so well that my life will be on the up and up...
Or...
(I don't want to think about or.)

I had seen a rainbow that almost formed a complete perfect circle in the town I was born in almost 8 years ago. (No, I am not 8 years old, but my grammar skills are.) Half the sky turned dark and the other half was so bright you could not look into the setting sun. I had never seen anything like it. I figured it was symbolic with completing a cycle or having traveled full circle... (The rainbow came to mind while posting so I mentioned it.) I would say that this was before seeing time prompts, but I was experiencing them back then... so maybe, I have gone full circle again.

(the Crazy 8's video was funny.)

:cat:

I have a clearer direction to what I should do today... the 8's still bother me though. It could be good.
The clock is ticking.

It always is... nobody but a small handful of people see the same rainbows you see...
(Even if people could fit in your hand.)

Thanks for the upper!

We are so lucky here...conditions are often right for rainbows to form over the lake. :sunflower: Once it looked as if the end was just on the other side...we could see the shrubs and trees colored rainbow style. awesome!!! :bana:

Rainbows always lift my spirit. Twice I have witnessed the formation of a round rainbow...both times, oddly enough, I was talking to God on my way home from work.

My money is on you Flint and your art business! :thumright: I hope very soon your dreams are realized.

I have seen Flint's art. It is awesome and very unique. :D
Love,
Sandy

I love it when or number prompts appear in our time postings or just kind of show up like in Jack's link! They want to be involved in everything we do, and I think that's so great!like our own secret , magical friends that we have around us at all times, so , so wonderful..-t's like I can feel their joy, almost hear the giggles...Inlikeflint, I am an artist too.... And of course there are highs and lows in our field and will always be people to tell us or make us feel like what we do is ridiculous, we stink at it , not worthwhile... We know different..-t's a gift and a blessing given to us to stir emotion or inspire others... Things will pick up, things will be great for you. I paint mostly on furniture, but also do paintings, would love to see what you do... :-)

Hello Inlikeflint,

I never thought of numbers as being negative in any way. To me that would be like saying K or M is negative and looming with possible bad outcomes. I understand eight to mean balance. In fact about twenty years ago, (when I was a teenager) I got a tatoo of the earth with eight butterflies sitting around it. I was young then, but clearly I see the connection now as the earth acends via our energy balancing. I hope that you will read this link below because it gives a much different picture of eight than what you may think. I happen to be fond of all numbers and even 666, which is not partial to our interpretations of it. It is its own happy bieng as all numbers and letters are. Peace P.S. You joined this 11:11 forum at 8:10.

Awesome. :sunflower: Your rainbow story is incredible, too, inlikeflint. Maybe you've got a years-long 8 tradition going, but if 8 starts popping up when you're sad, it can feel a bit dirty. Try to remember the early rainbow 8, and maybe it's all a tie-in to today. :roll
