My parents have been on a low carb diet for about 4-5 days now. (How weird is that?)

Atkins...

You lose weight pretty fast on those diets.
I have a friend who is a raw vegan and she has no body fat... She is about as thin as you can get.
I don't think I could stand to live like that.

 Thanks for the encouragement Jody...I am hanging in there but so are the rolls.  Now that has me thinking how yummy a nice hot full of carb roll would taste right now. :roll I truly don't understand it, I have been on a carb diet before and the weight just fell off of me, not that I had a whole lot to loose but still it was easy. This time...hmmm .... could be my mindset  It is not going well. The mind is very powerful and more than likely has the last say... LOL Now I am hearing an old sixties song..."I'm caught in a trap..I can't walk out... because I love you too much baby..." What that has to do with my current predicament I haven't a clue though...Maybe I feel caught in a vicious circle of revolving diet and ways of eating and being...Just recently I looked long and hard into a raw eating lifestyle because it would have been so good for G's diabetes. But he nixed that even though the blood sugar numbers were coming down. I think somewhere in the middle...is the ticket for us...well for G and I anyway. I can't speak for everybody because I believe we all have different needs because of our body condition, life habits and cellular needs. That is one reason I think what you said on another thread, Flint is so profound. We should more than likely meditate on what will help us...intuiting the answers as best we can and in our own way.

I hope your parents are doing well on Adkins. There are a couple of cook books I found helpful for coming up with a variety of low carb foods.
