My grandma left this world today

Post by vivrider »

Last night my grandmother passed away in her sleep. We just had a big party for her 93rd birthday a week ago. She wasn't sick, I guess it was just her time. I know that she's finally reunited with her husband and sister, and my mom, and I'm happy thinking about them giving her the grand tour. But I'm also missing her so much already and sad that I won't see her again for a long time (hopefully--I have young kids still.) I was driving today and got a sudden urge to text my oldest daughter to see how she was doing. So I pulled into a parking lot and stopped behind a car with a license plate that included 111. I don't know if prompts go as far as getting you to make a turn? But it made me feel a little less lonely seeing it.

I still haven't figured out how to paste pictures here, but here's a link to my facebook photo album if you'd like to see my beautiful Pama.

Thanks Geoff. I've been reading Life in World Unseen today and imagining her getting her first tour. It's so nice to KNOW that she's happy.

Dear Viv,
93 years old... Some people would say that was a life well lived. Yet, as I remember my own Grandma who passed away the day after her big family birthday party, at the time I kept thinking that I would have loved another 86 years with her. Your beloved Pama was and still is a precious lady as is evident in the love etched on each of the party goer's faces. This love will carry you and the family through whatever life has in store until you meet again on those far off shores...

Thank you for sharing your grandmothers party photos with us. :happy
I will remember you and the family in my prayers and, like Geoff, I will send love to your Pama as she begins a new and very exciting "bit of the eternal road".
Love you, Sis,

The party pictures give me the impression that everyone was super happy to be there! How fun it looked. Blessings to your Pama :)

Oh, Viv, I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother. But, her spirit lives on. Bless you and your family.

Thank you everyone. I'm so glad I know what I do about where she is now, and that I'll see her again, or this would be so much more painful. Sandy, Pama left one week exactly after her party. I guess her spirit decided she had said her goodbyes. We are all wishing that we had known we were saying goodbye for now. But so thankful that we had that last celebration with her.
