This is a wonderful story. It gave me the warm and fuzzies, but then most of his stories do.

Thank you for that Welles. I read it today on a morning when I am already thinking of my grown boys but as they were small and active and finding joy in everything. I remember many years later, when they were the teenage versions of their smug adult selves, finding little green plastic army men here and there..some of them having been in war with the lawn mower but like that red marble they held memories of laughter and joy in the summer sun. I wish I had saved them...
