Thought Adjuster:

“The idea that it is impossible to make contact with the presence of God inhabiting each one of you, is widespread among you. One technique is to formulate a question in your mind for the Father and then search for an answer. You can search in books, on the radio, on television, or the internet, and you will always receive an answer. Better still, you can try writing the answer yourself.



“This works, because your Thought Adjuster is continuously looking for a way to more successfully influence your mind and communicate with you in a more effective manner. The ideas regarding what you want to know are immediately placed in your mind, even before the question is verbally expressed, because your Thought Adjuster knows the desires of your mind and your heart.



“To bring these ideas from the spirit mind to the conscious mind you only need a reminder – a clue – to open the gates of understanding. The catalyst may be a phrase you read, a song you hear, images on television, a memory from your childhood, and more. The possibilities are endless. 



“However, only those who ask questions will receive answers. As the Master said, ‘Search and you will find’. Forget the idea that talking with the Father is impossible. In reality, it is the simplest thing in the world. Even when the communication doesn’t happen with words, you will always receive what you need and the real desires of your soul will always receive answers and guidance to achieve the goal of human life – to become increasingly like the Father.”

This made me think of cases where people get answers without asking questions, and the prime example seems to be the public education system. Students are usually told what to think, not how to think, and I think (pun intended) that this is one of the great crimes we commit against children.

Edit: I just thought of an argument againts my own post. Isn't telling a child how to think the same as telling them what to think since you are telling them what to think about their own thoughts?

I am so glad you emphasized this transmit, Welles! It gave me a wonderful "ah ha moment" this morning when I read it!
My TA is now going to be even busier then usual and that is saying a lot as she has her hands full with me!


Arthur, I think I know what you mean, though, correct me if I am wrong. We should teach our children perhaps to learn to evaluate and think for them selves that which is taught in schools, read in a book or newspaper or viewed on the internet. By creating brilliant thinkers we can avoid some of the pitfalls of misinformation and attacks on truth as it applies to issues that affect us all. This is something that bothers me with the journalism and news at this time. Instead of providing "just the facts" they try to tell us what to think about the story or issue or even worse leave off important facts that affect our own evaluation of the truth. Okay...sorry about that... venting...LOL

I just thought it interesting that teaching children to think for themselves is still technically teaching them what to think (though in a more general way), not that I am against it.
