Another perspective on "panic" ...

Re: https://www.foxnews.com/us/nike-says-al ... rus-spread

"Nike says all stores in the US to close to limit coronavirus spread"

 Massive unemployment may occur with so many businesses, etc., reducing hours or closing. :(

Of course, "Don't panic!" ... ;)
Do something productive, like updating your resume ... while selling lemonade ...
(if you can find lemons - they were sold out this morning in a LARGE grocery store).

i'm not sure how to say this, houston is alive. i've seen the living spirit move through out this city. the many people that live here, there is a unique energy that is ready for whatever may come. it may be a small portion of light, but it's something. like a protectorate, if our own government officials lead us astray, the population will be influenced by that greater power regardless.
crazy? maybe, but i believe this.

:sunflower: The combination of rapidly spreading virus and widespread "lockdown"
hints that the virus will have run out of room to grow within several weeks.
And several vaccines may be available by then to help prevent Round 2
as the planet's residents emerge from the mandated shadows. :finger:

Apparently the hoarding of food and supplies has NEVER been the medical definition of "hoarding".

Since there is no agreement on what is non-medical "hoarding", the complexity may be that the type/quantity
of food and supplies stored is relative to one's needs in contrast to others' needs for a certain period of time. ;)

Ultimately, "hoarding" is always what others are doing.

"Gov. Wolf orders all nonessential businesses in the state to shut down: ‘I would like people to stay home 24 hours a day’"

"Essential (will stay open):
- Supermarkets and grocery stores
- Big box stores
- Pharmacies
- Discount stores, mini-markets, and non-specialized food stores
- Daycare centers
- Hardware stores
- Gas stations
- Banks
- Post Offices
- Laundromats and dry cleaners
- Veterinary clinics for domestic pets and pet stores

 Such extreme lockdown may not be for a long period of time ... considering all other businesses (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, sales of many products/services, etc.). It might be easier to identify "non-essential" (or "not permitted") as any business requiring large-group presence (especially customers) having close contact with each other. :finger:

 The subtlety of such a mandate is that businesses are forced
to find creative ways to avoid "large-group having close contact". ;)

"OVER a million people should stay inside their homes for 12 weeks and everyone else must avoid going out" :?

 That people over 60 and/or have medical problems should stay home (and have only necessary visitors) is common instruction now - worldwide! What's still uncertain is how long (from 15 days to 12 weeks)? At least, local and national governments are making that decision easier: you stay home until they tell you it's safe to be out.

Apparently, "essential businesses/services" is flexible enough, but may have local interpretation
(expect to be questioned why you're out and about, especially at night). Probably like school:
raise your hand to ask permission (immediate permission should not be assumed). ;)

[online comment] "If you're under 60 and are in good health then this virus isn't a threat to you
and you'll get over it in a few days. The hysteria is overdone."

 Good advice! ... but,
stay away from those over 60 since you might be a carrier during your insignificant illness!
Such is the proven nature of this very unique coronavirus. And don't get hysterical if over 60s
try to avoid you, knowing that you had (still have?) the virus. 8)

a limit stressed by repeated exposure to this virus. Party! Party! Not :!: :!:
