"Ralph Macchio dismisses 'too White' criticism of 1984's 'Karate Kid' "

 Often lost to these history-criticizing Wokeisms
is the event/thing was appropriate for its time
... according to the many who permitted it.

Incidentally, despite the notoriety of past (and present) world leaders,
they achieved their "fame" with the assistance of a Pyramid of Minions;
in other words, did not act alone (or with just a few supporters).

 "The devil made me do it!" seems their mantra. :salut:

 More about the concept ...
A Pyramid of Minions typically supports a cause, but can be divided
into 'Minions' (those who really support the cause) and the 'minions'
(those pressured to support the cause). While 'Minions' may outnumber
'minions', the lesser group often casts the vote breaking the tie
that keeps the cause from moving forward. :o

;) A good thing for a good cause, otherwise ...

" 'World's dirtiest man' dead at 94 'not long after' taking bath for first time in decades"

 Since people have very short life spans once reaching 90, even stress of forced bathing
could have been a trigger. However, bacteria compete naturally and his skin may
have been less protective against new bacteria present after his bath.

"Musk Puts Twitter HQ on Lockdown to Prevent Revenge Attacks ... 50% of Twitter FIRED"

 Tis typical season for layoffs, but 50% would be momentous :!:

Twitter Fritter (and Fretter) comes to mind
... since 'fired' can also spell 'fried',
such as "50% of Twitter FRIED".

"Those keeping their jobs would be notified on their company email.
Those losing them would be told via their personal email."

 I've been told for several years that email is last-century communication :!:
... suggesting a near-term final Twitter Fritter?

 On the other hand, this creates intriguing employment (effective termination date is February 2023):
Future-terminated employees will not work; remaining employees will probably have an increased workload,
suggesting some of them will seek other employment and future-terminated employees might be recalled.

A very Musky business adventure!

The other advantage of using maggots is that they are very quick growers. They produce proteins at an amazing rate

:bana: (those senior moments) ...

Apparently, I missed all the news that November 8 is national voting day and thought that yesterday was THE day. It was the last early voting day in Texas and there was an impressive number of voters at a local church! Nevertheless, a fortuitous senior moment because I missed the larger voting crowd on November 8 and missed the rain storms than passed by later. :roll

Apparently, I missed all the news that improved credit cards had a new chip that permitted the card to be held against the reader to verify the transaction. Amazing technology these days (including those voting machines)! Naturally, I had to investigate by testing my new card ... twice! But now I wonder how easy it is for fraudulent devices to capture the same authorization since card presence alone seems the only transaction authorization required.

 (amazing technology these days) ...

I called the card activation service to inquire about transaction safety and the AI already knew what I wanted ("she" assumed I was ready to activate a PIN number). OMG! One more security code to remember! Not to worry - I'll save it in my little black book (a seniors' notebook - not juniors' dating book). ;)

So, I activated a PIN and purchased an RFID Sleeve (like envelope) for extra protection. But when testing at the office supplies counter the card was read - without a PIN request - when it was held 4" above the card reader. The salesman suggested that, as a credit card, the PIN is not required*. And he explained that better devices exist that can read a card in someone's pocket when they passed such device while walking or standing in line (RFID sleeve is supposed to prevent this). 8)

* See also: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contactless_payment

"Some suppliers claim that transactions can be almost twice as fast as a conventional cash, credit, or debit card purchase. Because no signature or PIN verification is typically required, contactless purchases are usually limited to small value sales." :o

 Apparently (like piranha bites), daily extraction of "small values" could amount to large bites of financial posteriors.

Re: https://rciwirelesscontrol.com/news/wil ... rolled-out

"5G networks are not being designed to replace 4G, rather they are designed to work in conjunction with 4G networks. Therefore, no one really knows when 4G will be phased out because cell phones that are 5G-capable will still be using 4G technology for quite some time to come."

 However, alternative media warnings that the human body cannot tolerate so much EMF exposure (especially from 5G) hint that technologically advanced cities will start proving this within a few years. Already, EMF-protected safe spaces in homes, offices, and vehicles seem important! EMF signals might be received outside the safe space and transmitted safely within that space. :finger:

"Elon will charge journalists who use 'they/them' $16 instead of $8
because they identify as multiple people" :o

 Silliness but highlights that 'they/them' always referred to multiple people,
suggesting that new pronouns should be created for this identity purpose :!:

The one exception would be if 'they/them' referred to multiple identities
(the person has not chosen their one and only preferred identity) ...
in which case a discount might be offered for their indecision.

"Six popular supplements advertised as being able to lower ‘bad’ cholesterol levels and improve heart health are a waste of money ...
Fish oil, cinnamon, garlic, turmeric, plant sterols and red yeast rice flopped in research comparing them with prescribed statin drugs." :o

 Quick guess: Prescription drugs are necessary where diet is not improved whereby supplements could be effective.
And studies exist that show neither drugs nor supplements are required for better diets, lifestyle, exercise, etc. ;)
Such studies frequently hint that being overweight is not indicative of great diets, etc.

 Those same studies maintain that Type 2 diabetes is easier to control with less weight.

 Probably not intentional "kill grid", but local EMF signals need monitoring,
even suggesting public EMF meters (like thermometers) will communicate sufficient warning

more freedom of expression as that original gender! "Bisexual" comes to mind. ;)

"Musk says free employee lunches at Twitter HQ were costing more than $400 per meal because 'almost no one' was in the office"

 Unless business math is different, cost per meal is the same when employees are working in the office.
Also, when similar productivity occurs at home, meals at home occur at employee's expense (not Twitter's),
so many HQ meals could be eliminated ... even with continuing work-at-home permission! ;)

Nevertheless, this work-at-home permission (to minimize employee rule-rationalized departure)
might be transformed into an "office days out" allotment per month. :roll
