"Great bull markets rarely end with a whimper. You end up with a big boost. And unfortunately, brokers and investors alike tend to assume that if the market has gone up over the last week, month, or year, it will go up again tomorrow." :finger:

"In earlier eras, it could take time for people to sell, and even in times of panic, bloodletting was not instantaneous. However, with the internet, all it takes is one major sell-off by a company - one that breaks stops of a large number of investors, and market takes a lightning fast tumble."

"How America turned into a nation of snackers"

"historically, eating three meals a day was 'certainly not standard,' ... The practice came into vogue in the United States thanks to the Industrial Revolution, when factory schedules dictated workers' eating patterns. You would want to have a meal prior to heading to work to fuel you through the day ... there would be a midday break, to refuel your energy ... and then a post-work meal."

 Today's eating habits suggest we're in the Pandemic Revolution with typical snack foods likely to keep fueling the pandemic.

Just a note on metal straws. Almost everybody I knew in Australia used metal straws at home and generally they come with a tiny brush made for going inside the straw to clean it.... easy peasy.

"College football player from North Texas dies at 21 after sudden collapse" :o

 The intriguing subtlety of the many "sudden collapse" deaths - worldwide - is that "heart attack, stroke, etc."
was usually announced with such news. Not so for most "sudden collapse" victims now, hinting of atypical cause.
What could that be? :?

That many "sudden collapse" deaths are occurring is suspicious ...
to an increasing number of people!

"Well, there it is. A gas generator being used to charge an electric car (on the side of the road)." :o

 A good reminder that electric car batteries can neither be charged immediately nor replaced.
For most people on the road with a dead battery this means towing to a charging station.

** Entrepreneur Alert!

A small trailer with substitute battery (and long cable) might be cheaper than towing.
The car would probably need adaptation for easier emergency use of such trailer ...
and a friend could bring the Rent-a-Bat to you. ;)

There will be other uses for such portable battery power!
("Bat Man" as a business name is probably unavailable.)

 "Wishing excruciating death" seems close to "fighting words". ;)

Nevertheless, free speech has never meant that one is not held accountable
for their speech, especially if it's inflammatory by current standards.
And "free speech" has always meant that one is free to receive both
positive and negative feedback on that speech.

:study: Re: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Day_of_the_Dead

"The Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) is a holiday traditionally celebrated on November 1 and 2 ... largely originated in Mexico, where it is mostly observed, but also in other places, especially by people of Mexican heritage elsewhere"

"has a much less solemn tone and is portrayed as a holiday of joyful celebration rather than mourning. The multi-day holiday involves family and friends gathering to pay respects and to remember friends and family members who have died."

 A recent documentary on local TV mentioned that the once dead travel from far away to reunite with family and friends, then return after the holiday, suggesting a Muerto Pasado celebration (death is simply transition to a new life). 8)

"Florida Gov. mocks college students who take 'zombie studies with $100,000 in debt'
only to take 'a job they could've had at the end of high school' " :o

 In fairness, such debt is often rationalized by information that the "zombie" study will guarantee
well-paid employment. The sources of this information and others who promote it need to be identified
and evaluated. While training is important, a college degree is not necessarily significant (other than
to suggest better training and potential during employment interviews).

"(e) expand market opportunities for bioenergy and biobased products and services;

"(f) train and support a diverse, skilled workforce and a next generation of leaders
from diverse groups to advance biotechnology and biomanufacturing;" 8)

:finger: Hopefully, those leaders will always remember this part of the executive order:

"we must take concrete steps to reduce biological risks associated with advances in biotechnology. We need to invest in and promote biosafety and biosecurity to ensure that biotechnology is developed and deployed in ways that align with United States principles and values and international best practices, and not in ways that lead to accidental or deliberate harm to people, animals, or the environment."
