LOL1: This means that dogs expose their owners to more diversity

especially from their microbiome's increased diversity. 8)

"According to the draft, the court would overturn Roe v. Wade's holding of a (U.S.) federal constitutional right to an abortion. The opinion would be the most consequential abortion decision in decades and transform the landscape of women's reproductive health in America." :o

 It's time to reconsider this constitutional right, but requires careful re-wording since elimination of the right could imply that failing to protect the embryo*, once conceived, is also a crime. And wording overreach could suggest both egg and sperm can be monitored by the state.

 A new law that requires the state to provide financial and other assistance
to a pregnant woman forced to carry the embryo to term would complement. 8)

* A fetus develops from the embryo and is defined as
"unborn human baby more than 8 weeks after conception".

Re: https://www.yahoo.com/news/revealed-why ... 38797.html

"Astrobiologists Dr Michael Wong, Dr Stuart Bartlett ... hypothesised that civilisations burn out when they grow too large and technical. Faced with an ever-growing population and eye-watering energy consumption, worlds hit a crisis point known as a 'singularity' where innovation can no longer keep up with demand. The only alternative to collapse is to abandon 'unyielding growth' and adopt a balance that allows survival but prevents the society moving any further forward, or venturing far from its own spot in the universe." :o

 Or maybe the universe(s) is much larger than believed and civilizations are so distant that
1) You have to know your destination planet in order to go there.
2) Travel time is in terms of generations.

 And this hints that, in an intelligent universe, life is purposely initiated so distant
that civilizations must be well advanced before they discover their mutual existence. ;)

:hithere Then again, there are those who believe that we're already being visited!
How this is kept a secret from the general public for centuries is mysterious
and requires alien participation to avoid such disclosure. :?

:bana: If you're wondering why "poop stool" is not redundant ...
read "Gut", by Giulia Enders, 2015, a New York Times Best Seller :!:

Intimates good response in political circles where
you prefer not to respond to a question:
"Because 'poop stool' is not redundant."

8) Even kids can use it ...
Mom: "Why did you not clean your room?!"
Son: "Because 'poop stool' is not redundant."
Mom: "Go sit on your stool in the corner!"
Son: "Which one?" ;)

 But I digress (and didn't know which corner) ...
then today's spam email Subject renewed my focus:
"A sausage, snake, watery, or a blob?"

 I was directed to read Paleo Hacks Newsletter which explains why
"It's vitally important that you figure out if your poops are normal." :o

... which motivated me to first rumage in the cupboard
for some high-fiber crackers and seedy peanut butter. :D

But I digress ...
and will soon return my focus to Giulia's "Gut". :roll

 So, a wandering mind ... wanders (on any topic)

Now it makes sense that a cow "plops", but many animals "poop"
(re: Subject's reference to shape): Cows eat lotsa moist grass fiber!

Kids: "Why do we keep having cow food?!"
Mom: "Eat your greens - they help your moovement!" :D

:study: Re: "Gut", by Giulia Enders, 2015, a New York Times Best Seller :!:
"The Brain and the Gut", p.123

"Sea squirts are sessile animals: once they take up residence they never move again, no matter what happens. The first thing a sea squirt does after setting up home is to eat its own brain. And why not? It's possible to live and be a sea squirt without one." 8)

:bana: However, active young human males, currently sessile, don't need to eat their brain
(their greater motivation and direction comes from "down there", so I've read)

"(U.S.) Oregon forces all schools — elementary and up — to put 'menstrual products' in boys' bathrooms with 'instructions on how to use'.
The law aims to 'affirm the right to menstrual dignity for transgender, intersex, nonbinary, and two-spirit students.' "

 The pad-type products should also go to Home Ed, Machine Shop, and Wood Shop classes since these products are great for solvents and other liquids that need to be applied and/or mopped up. Presumably, instructions for alternate uses would be included. Add medical tape, etc. to this supply and impromptu disease prevention (or air filtering) masks could be constructed. 8)

:? (a riddle) Because of this impressive gender dignity momentum,
'menstrual' is no longer an oxymoron, but 'momentum' remains sexist.

"Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, 79, smashes into car in brutal T-bone before he limps away from crash"

 Video seems to show Jerry and T-boned car had green light but other car had turned left from the wrong lane. The wet street hints that Jone's car was sliding after he tried to brake (his brake lights are on several seconds before impact). More amateur CSI ...

1) Jone's car may have been in the blind spot of the other car as that driver suddenly decided to turn left across his pathway.
2) Jone's car seems to be going a bit faster than might be expected (as if rushing through a yellow light?).

"cryptocurrencies are no longer making anyone rapid fortunes, are no longer protecting against inflation, and governments are working out how to find them. What exactly is the attraction? They are clearly little more than a pyramid scheme: machines for redistributing wealth from players who are late into the gold rush to those who were early. And like all other pyramid schemes, they have a brief and finite life." :(

:duh Then again, how did a non-existent "currency" (digital number in complex online network) ever become a financial asset, now promoted by some banks, companies - even governments?! "Get a piece of the action!" has long been the promotional mantra. Experienced any redistribution of your wealth? That's still a "piece of the action!" ;)

 Bitcoin promotion now is probably by/for investors

:bana: This evening while seated on my sofa (next to house plants) reading "The Energy Paradox" (Steven R. Gundry, MD, 2021), a .7 centimeter star-shaped plant fiber(?) landed on my knee. Since I had just been reading about the brain's neurons' mitochondria, this "star link" probably directed quick research online ... which soon landed on the topic of "astrocytes". 8)

 Naturally, reading that the astrocyte had a star shape seemed sufficient clue about the mysterious arrival of the plant fiber (5 star-shape arms with white outline and veggie green centers). The following quick scan of internet articles suggested a reasonable message (from wherever)
about the plant fiber, now saved:

:study: Re: https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/315680
" 'Helper cells' can turn toxic in brain injury and diseases"

"For a long time, scientists believed that astrocytes – star-shaped cells in the central nervous system that outnumbers neurons by around five to one – were simply packing cells that provide structural support to neurons. More recently, it has become clear that astrocytes perform a wide variety of complex and essential roles in the brain and the rest of the central nervous system. For example, it is now known that astrocytes enhance neuron survival and help to shape brain circuitry."

"A1 astrocytes appear to lose the ability to help neurons survive and grow connections. Instead, they induce the death of neurons and oligodendrocytes, the cells that help to grow the myelin sheath that insulates connections between neurons. In further experiments, the researchers showed that blocking A1 astrocytes stopped them killing neurons.

The researchers also found that A1 astrocytes are abundant in various human neurodegenerative diseases, including: Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and multiple sclerosis. For example, in tissue samples from Alzheimer’s patients, they found that nearly 60 percent of the astrocytes in the prefrontal cortex, a region of the brain where the disease causes the most damage, were A1 astrocytes."

:study: Re: https://www.nature.com/subjects/astrocyte

"Astrocytes are the largest and most prevalent type of glial cell in the central nervous system. Astrocytes contribute to formation of the blood–brain barrier, participate in the maintenance of extracellular ionic and chemical homeostasis, are involved in the response to injury, and affect neuronal development and plasticity."

:study: Re: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8074612/
"Astrocyte Activation in Neurovascular Damage and Repair Following Ischaemic Stroke"

"Astrocytes have several important roles in the healthy and diseased brain. They are the main housekeeping cells of the brain, and can exert either protective or detrimental effects on neurons during pathophysiological conditions. Astrocytes are essential for the development and maintenance of the BBB, homeostasis of the brain microenvironment, cerebral blood flow regulation, neurotransmitter uptake, synaptogenesis, neurogenesis and release of neurotrophic factors and energy supply to neurons. Astrocytes also play a major role during pathophysiological conditions. Neuronal survival heavily depends on astrocytes."

:study: Re: https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10 ... 62578/full
"Neurotropic Viruses, Astrocytes, and COVID-19", 09 April 2021

"The role of astrocytes in COVID-19 pathology, related to aging and neurodegenerative disorders, and environmental factors"

"Human coronaviruses (CoVs) were first identified in the mid-1960s and were named for the crown-like spikes on their surface ... The primary target cells for SARS-CoV-2 are the epithelial cells of the respiratory and gastrointestinal tract that contain angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2), which is utilized by the virus to enter the cell ... Indeed, there is evidence that SARS-CoV-2 affects the central nervous system (CNS) through which it also contributes to the pathophysiology of COVID-19"

 Wild guess about the message of the star-like fiber ...

Both COVID-19 and mRNA vaccines (present the same "crown-like spikes" on a cell's surface) interfere with astrocytes' natural interaction with the brain's neurons. Focus on astrocytes may lead to better understanding of brain dysfunction caused by COVID-19 (and mRNA vaccines?).

 See also: Two articles hinting of linkage between astrocyte dysfunction and vaccines:

:study: Re: https://www.cell.com/trends/immunology/ ... 0072-2.pdf
"Astrocytes: Key Regulators of Neuroinflammation"

"Astrocytes are crucial regulators of innate and adaptive immune responses in the injured central nervous system. Depending on timing and context, astrocyte activity may exacerbate inflammatory reactions and tissue damage, or promote immunosuppression and tissue repair."

:study: Re: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41587-021-00880-0

"In a recent paper in Science, Ugur Sahin, who led the development of a COVID-19 mRNA vaccine, and coauthors have now harnessed this vaccine technology to suppress, rather than prime, antigen-specific immune responses. Working with mouse models of multiple sclerosis, they show that immunization with a modified mRNA encoding a self antigen and delivered in a non-inflammatory lipoplex carrier leads to a dampening of autoimmunity through the activation of antigen-specific regulatory T cells."

 Hmmm ... "interfere with astrocytes' natural interaction with the brain's neurons" is unsettling,
especially when that interaction controls the well-being or elimination of neurons :!:

"It's not nice to fool Mother Nature" comes to mind!
