Re: https://www.foxnews.com/media/ai-chatbo ... lind-study
"AI chatbot's 'bedside manner' preferred over conventional doctors by shocking margin"

"He added that one of the implications is that people are unhappy with conventional doctors' bedside manner. 'They're overworked. The main thing I hear from doctors, people in the medical community, is about being overworked, and you feel that when you're with a lot of doctors" :(

 Interesting subtlety about AI medical personnel (as well as future AI caregivers, personal attendants, et al.): An AI Doc (AID) has not the pressures, troubles, and limitations of a human doctor ... therefore can offer supra-human care! It's easy to favor the technical expertise of an AID, but the faux humanity suggests human+robot relationship - not human+quasi-human. The future problem(?) may be the "political" divide between those who prefer to believe that AIDs are real people and those who know otherwise (not influenced by the faux humanity). :?

:lol: Some day, one U.S. national AI President and one AI Vice President will exist;
popular vote will determine how they're programmed to behave for the term. 8)

:bana: Realistically, as we advance into the AI unknown, most people will develop a nonchalance about the "other person" of their virtual (or live) interaction. As long as the human gets what they want from the interaction (achieves their interaction purpose) then it matters not that the "other person" may be faux humanity. Marriage counselors in this era will need advanced training, depending on their own personhood.

"A record number of U.S. high school students now identify
as gay, lesbian, or something other than straight" :o

 A trend hinting this occurs in modern society because youth
can now be "something other" than their birth sexuality.
In other words, that which constrained exploration
of other sexuality for centuries no longer constrains.

 Apparently, youth now identify as they choose,
especially as influenced by the internet's social media.
Now with medical/social support to explore new paths
- despite birth sexuality, choosing sexuality is a norm. :o

Best guess: If binary sexuality was evolution's provision
for society-building family life, both society and family life
are now increasingly at risk!

"Transgender women keep their prostates even after gender-affirming surgery"

 "Gender-affirming" refers to physical appearance - not internal restructuring -
since women don't have a prostate, nor men a uterus, etc.

"Experts are recommending 'Swedish death cleaning' -
and they say it's your duty to your children"

 Downsizing possessions to those more practical for later life needs
is the healthier perspective. After all, service businesses exist which
can easily and quickly empty a house, sometimes at little cost
if they can keep what they want. 8)

Some experts even suggest that children don't want
most of what's left behind, especially if well-used
and not of antique quality. ;)

 To avoid lawsuits and to "share the load", some encampments should be moved
to neighborhoods where live supporters of this bill. There, those homeless would not
be harassed and the homeless in both places would not be so congested. Win! Win! :finger:

Re: https://dnyuz.com/2023/05/04/the-link-b ... in-health/
"The Link Between Highly Processed Foods and Brain Health" :o

"Ultraprocessed foods include ingredients that are rarely used in homemade recipes — such as high-fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated oils, protein isolates and chemical additives like colors, artificial flavors, sweeteners, emulsifiers and preservatives ... carefully formulated to be so palatable and satisfying they’re almost addictive ... to make products taste better and better, manufacturers make them less and less like real food."

UPFs make up a majority of packaged foods you find in the frozen food aisles at grocery stores and on menus at fast-food restaurants —
70 percent of the packaged foods sold in the United States are considered ultraprocessed."

:duh Even knowing this about UPFs is not enough persuasion to avoid these tasty foods!
Fortunately (or not), we can rationalize that our lesser brain health is the reason.
However, the nutrition that's not in these "foods" might be more problematic
than the lab-inspired tasty stuff that dominates typical ingredients. ;)

are providing guns to those who use them for aggression - not personal protection.

 Transgender clothing for infants is for adult pleasure
since infants cannot intellectualize that they have gender!
And "drag queen" seems a performance role - not gender -
since typical drag queens are males performing as females
(and often perform as males when not "performing").

"U.S. University of Colorado Boulder has published a pronouns guide that advises students to assume
others are transgender or nonbinary unless individuals say otherwise... guide asks students to refer
to others with gender-neutral pronouns unless they are explicitly told otherwise —
including unusual pronouns, like 'ze/zir' and 'hir.' "

 We can still assume that the other being is a human (not robot) with preferred gender
as well as biologic gender. A social code may soon develop where the first greeting
of strangers is actually a question, called "Wataru?". :?

:hithere Of course, finesse will be required since asking
may imply that gender is not obvious.

8) Wataru dialogue should get very interesting because response to the question
can start negotiation: "I'm usually this (or Zis) but could swing to that (Zat)
with encouragement/reward/whatever." ;)

Re: https://www.brighteon.com/
(search for: "Solar Panels Are A Waste And Add To The Climate Problem")

 Very short video but introduces a new term: "green waste"
(increasing tons of materials discarded after use for green energy;
materials dumped in landfills worldwide!) :o

Solar panels may generate significant energy but may not provide
sufficient return on investment. Also, older solar panels installed
on home roofs are often discarded (not re-installed) when the
roof needs to be replaced. And solar panel removal/installation
is not performed by roofing companies! Then there's the cost
increase of house insurance for solar panel coverage. :(

 Perhaps, a reasonably good green energy investment,
depending on total installation cost ... and best timed
just after replacing a roof. ;)
