"The robot is initially focused on the production of high-volume, customizable pizzas. But the company says it could be used for many types of food, whether it uses a bun, bowl, tortilla or plate. The machine uses deep learning AI technology to continually learn as it functions."

:bana: Machines like this might be able to re-diaper 12 babies an hour in a large day care center
(babies enter on brightly decorated conveyor belt accompanied by soft, comforting music;
5 min. allowed per baby for AI baby googling time).

"When a Massachusetts police department noticed a few toys that had been set aside to be donated mysteriously disappeared,
it didn't take long to find the four-legged culprit."

 No one guessed that this TD, Ben Franklin, wins the Christmas game :!:
(storing toys for his own Naughty or Nice List). ;)

:bana: However, being on this Naughty List is quite nice:
a few licks on the hand for encouragement next year. :roll

"A Vermont town puts up speed signs that tell drivers if they are 'naughty' or 'nice'"

 Technically, the vehicle is the 'naughty' or 'nice' object ...
with the driver assumed to be the responsible person. ;)

 Should not 20 mph (or less) in a 30 mph zone also be 'naughty'
... since it disrupts the planned traffic flow :?:

:o Next year, Santa City might automatically assess an "administrative fee"
for the overhead of registering your name on its 'naughty' list.

"This festive period, PETA is urging everyone to extend the season of goodwill to fish and all other animals
by choosing delicious vegan Christmas meals."

 The problem with this trend to avoid "fish and all other animals" is that fowl, creepy crawlies,
and even some plants* will be probable inclusions in PETA's future "What Not to Eat" menu.
* those registering detectable "feelings".

:bana: Not to worry :!:
By then, all food could be laboratory-manufactured. Yum!
(at least until food molecules have detectable feelings)

Re: https://www.foxnews.com/travel/carnival ... apologizes

"The initial incident, which Carnival is referring to as an allision as opposed to a collision
(seeing as one of the ships was not actually moving at the time), took place on Friday morning"

 Interesting terminology, suggesting that whenever your vehicle hits a non-moving object
you had an "allision" - not "collision", probably defusing a severe parental scolding. :roll

Son: "Mom, your new car had a minor allision so I took it to the repair shop."
Mom: "Thanks, Son! Cosmetic surgery is important, especially for new cars."

"the Christmas puddings [fruitcake-like dessert with brandy inside] will become the centerpieces of future gatherings
and will make up some of the 99 (one for each year of the 99 years the Royal British Legion has been in existence)"

 These 99 puddings might lead to a royal cookbook (brandy flavoring recommended for young connoisseurs). 8)

 Hmmm ... how much brandy is needed for 99 unique puddings?
Tasting three a day for 33 days could be a new tradition! with 33 hosts! :roll
(three samples tasted at one daily gathering is recommended)

The tradition will be that one host serves each of the 33 days - participants (tasters) are not expected
to attend every gathering, but could win a prize for most attendance (like a healthclub membership). ;)

Re: https://www.cnn.com/2019/12/20/opinions ... index.html

 Seemingly, "trans" people have always existed - the greater problem may be that "male" and "female" have been so rigidly defined for centuries. This suggests that Darwinism is a perpetuating influence: people, like animals and plants, have to be rigidly categorized ...
with no "in-between" possibilities.

:duh On the other hand, how can the decidely "male" and "female" persons know how to identify the others with so many new terms (and more being created every year)? Perhaps, the non-males/females have societal obligation to publicly self-identify if they wish to be known by their preferred orientation and its current term. ;)

:hithere New (and surreal) introductions:
"Hi! I'm Rhonda, male.", "Hi! I'm Rhoda, trans male.", "Hi! I'm Zelda, non-binary.",
"Hi! I'm Max, female.", "Hi! I'm Beever, fluid.", "Hi! I'm Sassy, non-conforming."

"Veterinarian says the Impossible Whopper ‘will make men grow breasts because of soy proteins'"

"Just six glasses of soy milk per day has enough estrogen to grow boobs on a male.
That’s the equivalent of eating four impossible whoppers per day."

 At four a day, you should expect to grow something ... like poor (they're not cheap).
Since excess estrogen has been a caution about soy milk and products for years,
one IW might be a problem only if other soy products are also consumed daily. ;)

even while eating a diet high in fat and sugar"

"The researchers fed a group of rats a diet that consisted of 40 to 45 percent of carbohydrates and only 15 percent protein for four weeks. The animals were also given a tea rich in phytochemicals, flavonoids and amino acids. The amount of caffeine per serving ranged from 65 to 130 milligrams."

... and skip the never-ending diet rat races in 2020.

Re: https://www.foxnews.com/food-drink/marc ... legal-case

"Veyrat claimed that a Michelin inspector accused him of using English Cheddar in a French soufflé, instead of a traditional French cheese option, the New York Post reported. The chef alleges, however, that the inspector simply had an 'unsophisticated palate' and mistook the cheese's yellow color (it was made with saffron) for cheddar while visiting Veyrat's eatery in the French Alps."

 It does require some explanation how an English Cheddar would find its way to the French Alps, especially considering:

"The restaurant is known for using local Haute Savoie ingredients, including herbs, dairy and meat from its own farms and gardens."
