"During the class, William was reportedly asked to publicly reveal his race, gender,
religious and sexual identities and 'then attach derogatory labels to those identities'." :o

 Apparently, self-flagellation was not required - just symbolic flagellation.

"Sea slugs lose heads to rid bodies of parasites"

"One of the amazing things about stem cells is that they can be used
to regenerate a heart and body from the edge of the animal’s head"

"Mitoh, a doctoral researcher at Nara Women’s University, noticed one day that a sea slug,
known as a sacoglossan, had spontaneously detached its head from its body... it continued
to move around and eat quite energetically ... and it regenerated its heart and body." 8)

 Actually, this article instructs "Don't lose your head!"
... since the head grows another body but not vice versa. ;)
Seemingly, evolution's prevention of self-cloning.

"Amazon cancels bestselling book 'When Harry Became Sally' ...
purging books that 'frame transgender identity as a mental illness' "

 Yet, "mental" remains an operative term since the brain is not happy
with the accompanying body (but it's still easier to change the body).

"Mental Anomaly" is close but infers that the brain is the problem. :?
"Mental Anomaly Delineated" is closer, but controversial acronym. :o
Best guess: Amazon will sell more books about purging. ;)

"cryptocurrency uses more electricity per transaction than any other method"

:duh Some "product", this bitcoin! After requiring so much electricity to create,
all that's created is a very unique digital number! And this "product's"
inherent value is simply its popularity ... in a financial pyramid!

 Somehow, this suggests a very good way to consume resources
without creating anything material at all! Of course, equipment
required to calculate these unique digital numbers is real ...
and seriously income producing for these suppliers. :roll

 Somehow, this suggests creation of B.C. Magnets
that accumulate permanent computer audit trails of transactions
that use these numbers to identify transaction participants. ;)

 Somehow, this suggests a future B.C. to A.D. transition
will occur when currency materialism returns.

"America’s national day of celebration is great for desserts, but doesn’t really make any sense to people outside of the United States. The day looks like '3.14' for those who write dates as month.day, but that is rarely used outside of the Americas."

 While other days could be designated "Pi Day", logic - not date display format - seems to favor March 14:

The '3' of "3.14" easily refers to the third month of the year
and ".14" refers to a subset of "3" (14th day of this month).

:bana: Of course, those who associate 'pie' with 'Pi'
often prefer that all possible days be "Pi Day" ...
or be Leftover Pi Day, such as Julian 314
(November 10 in 2021). ;)

"Leftover" because its preceded by a Pi Day.

 Expensive drinks seem counter-intuitive to coronavirus stimulus assistance,

Ah, subtle- not so subtle sarcasm? Most folks get their news from headlines without reading the story. Especially that of a younger generation, a majority of whose attention spans have been severely reduced and who get information from social media platforms- not traditional televised or paper sources. Those who are in the business of generating views are well aware of the psychological tactics employed to illicit both subtle and not so subtle emotions. I'm afraid "click-bait" i.e, sensationalism has existed before television. It's all noise, and a silent enemy has long infiltrated the psychology of its consumers. And good morning to you! Ah, coffee time.
