"Researchers found that people who contract the virus give off high amounts of it very early on in the infection ...
Many people may be at their most infectious when showing only mild, cold-like symptoms." :o

 Seems logical if the virus is replicating quickly when the immune system is just beginning to respond
(symptoms begin to appear but immune system still needs time to learn about this new pathogen). ;)

"As for Malaysia, the Ministry for Women, Family and Community Development has requested that women do not nag their husbands during the lockdown, reported NPR. The ministry advised women from being 'sarcastic' if their husbands asked them to help out with household chores. The request urged women to look pretty for their spouses, by dressing up and wearing makeup." :roll

 Then the women could step outside and be a visual delight for the whole neighborhood!

"(COVID-19) has been confirmed in 125,048 people worldwide, carrying a mortality of approximately 3·7%,
compared with a mortality rate of less than 1% from influenza." ;)

"evidence suggests that a subgroup of patients with severe COVID-19 might have a cytokine storm syndrome." :o

 With younger people (worldwide) now being included in cases confirmed,
over-reactive immune systems are suspect (elderly have more severe reaction);
suggests signaling mechanism to reduce immune response is faulty?

Re: https://www.contagionlive.com/news/resu ... or-covid19

"The initial results from a placebo-controlled trial of hydroxychloroquine for COVID-19 indicate that patients hospitalized
with mild illness recovered more quickly with addition of the drug than with placebo at the start of a standard treatment.
The results also suggest that hydroxychloroquine might convey some protection against the illness worsening."

 Paraphrased: Hydroxychloroquine shortens recovery time if administered when minor symptoms first appear,
otherwise it might provide "some protection" against worsening symptoms.

(IMO): People do not have identical immune systems - 80% seem to have "some protection" already.
And many discussions online about "microbiome" (good bacteria in the intestines) suggest that
immune system health/responsiveness is directly related to a good microbiome. ;)

Tip: The microbiome is often compromised when antibiotics are administered.

about practicing physical distancing, and as a result have been exposed to much larger viral loads from the environment."

"In some young, healthy people, a very reactive immune system could lead to a massive inflammatory storm
that could overwhelm the lungs and other organs."

(quantity of virus in the initial exposure or continuing exposure).

 Evidence seems to be accumulating that it's effective for treating

the drug is misperceived as a cure when it's more like an OTC Tylenol
yet necessary preventative if inflammation causes lung failure. ;)

 A subtle warning that a smart phone (often constant companion) knows where you are,
keeps reporting your location to a database, and might need to take a separate vacation

;) Then again, ubiquitous cameras and facial recognition technology can be effective Plan B

;) Then again, credit card transactions, similarly tracked, can be effective Plan C

Re: https://ratical.org/PerspectivesOnPandemic-II.html

"children do very well with these diseases. They’re evolutionarily designed to be exposed to all sorts of viruses during their lifetime,
and so they should keep going to school and infecting each other." :o

 Dr. Wittkowski favors "herd immunity", created when more people are exposed to a virus, and suggests that "at risk" people (elderly, adults with serious medical conditions) separate from the herd for a while. An enlightening interview but not necessarily the best advice and solutions (IMO). For example, how practical is "close nursing homes" since relatives and friends could not easily provide similar care? and these same people might be asymptomatic carriers!

:!: Worth noting: COVID-19 is primarily an airborne disease, but clean hands and surfaces help prevention. ;)

Bottom line: Recent analyses now have the advantage of hindsight - much has been learned about this virus as the weeks go by.
Herd immunity is indeed developing by so many asymptomatic carriers of the virus having shared it so well in previous weeks.
