"The California-based company has spent more than a decade developing a material it calls AirCarbon, which it says functions exactly like plastic but is completely biodegradable. Newlight developed the material using microorganisms found in the ocean that feed on methane and carbon dioxide — two greenhouse gases among the biggest contributors to climate change. The organisms turn those gasses into a natural polymer that can be shaped or molded just like plastic." 8)

"Scotland-based cookie maker is hiring a 'master biscuitier,' at a salary of $52,000 per year, to taste-test the company’s new confections."

"successful candidate will spend their days launching products from kitchen table to production, enticing new flavors worthy of a place in biscuit tins across the nation, as well as help lead the team in continuing to drive innovation, quality, and sustainability throughout the business"

 Apparently, the company is hoping to hire an experienced cookie cutter with serious business credentials
and will be given frequent cookie tasting benefits ... as oft given to its outstanding employees. ;)

Well this is interesting,
Wikipedia Bans Christians From Contributing to the Website

The website has now announced that it will no longer allow Christians who openly-display their faith on their profile pages to contribute to their website. According to Breitbart, a group of leftists went into a tizzy...

Conservatism — and particularly, Christianity — is under relentless attack. It is of utmost importance that Christians stand their ground in this culture war. It is a battle that will ultimately be lost by man, but we must remember that Christ has already won the war at the cross. As Christians, even in America, will begin to face ever-increasing persecution, we must remember that Jesus said, “If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you.” (John 15:18)"

Re: https://getpocket.com/explore/item/the- ... -languages

"languages are strikingly different in the level of detail they require a speaker to provide in order to put a sentence together."

 This varying level of detail suggests that the listener exerts varying effort to comprehend what is being spoken, depending on the language of communication. This also hints that hand gestures, facial expressions, and tone of voice enrich (or not) the communication. And if the listener wants to know more about the posited chicken, they will ask. And this suggests that some languages require a bit more conversation to know if the chicken crossed the road ... or is just eating beside the road ... or is eating the road ... or :?:

 Then, with the inauguration of passenger travel by air, this Raines Sandwich in another country (Spain) was very popular for a while! However, this sandwich was also passed (usually from flight captain to flight captain) and never eaten, therefore fading in popularity since the Raine in Spain stays mainly on the plane.

Re: https://www.cnn.com/2020/10/22/business ... index.html

"Burger King is planning to test reusable containers starting next year as part of its efforts to reduce waste. The trial is part of a partnership with TerraCycle's zero-waste delivery platform, Loop. Customers can opt in for reusable packaging for menu items such as sandwiches, soft drinks and coffee. They can then return the reusable sandwich container or beverage cup to Burger King restaurants to be cleaned and reused." :o

 Somehow, tasking consumers with the inconvenience of returning containers (instead of quickly discarding them), hints that this sustainability will be just as popular as recycling (i.e., not sufficiently popular). Also, unlike glass, softer packaging materials may not be as presentable the next time with just washing ... considering how current packaging is roughly handled after purchase. ;)

 Biodegradable - even edible - packaging may be the environmental bees' knees ...
or maybe mealworm casings and feet can be transformed into packaging ...
or maybe mealworms would eat the new packaging! Win Win :!:

:study: From today's email (article from Newsmax.com about dogs) ...

"veterinary research shows a major factor is the 'high-heat' cooking method of common dog foods, which adds toxins such as advanced glycation end products and maillard reaction products to kibble, canned food, and even many premium dog foods."

 Surprise! Humans also eat food prepared with "high-heat" cooking :!:

can help minimize the effects of AGEs (i.e., go for the fries ... occasionally). :roll

Re: https://www.theguardian.com/travel/2020 ... r-the-soul

"Into the night: why walking in the dark is good for the soul"

"Walking at night is not without risk, but with knowledge and preparation it opens up a new side to walking. For example, it’s important to know your route by day so that you know what features to pick out by night; to have good navigational skills; take the right kit (hat, gloves, insulated layers and a daypack with a flask of hot drink); and pick favourable weather."

 "Not without risk" indeed! In fact, there are so many places in this modern era where walking in the dark can be problematic, that doing so might best be a Bucket List item (try at least once, with all due caution and preparation). About walking alone in the dark in a typical big city ... this would be the item at the bottom of my Bucket List.

 This link in today's email (advertising a show) promotes "remote viewing",
phenomena that seems to have some accuracy, especially as a group project.
However, since God only knows the precise future, remote viewing may be
a presentation of trends as collected from many different sources.

This suggests that the predicted future does not have to occur
... if a sufficient number of humans desire it not, that is,
if humans would be the cause of that future. ;)
