Re: Meher Baba

We have also heard from Meher Baba and its clear he was not an avatar either Please elaborate. We have also heard from Meher Baba and its clear he was not an avatar either, and in fact this belief of his caused him some issues, but that he is now fused. Many gurus out of the sub-continent have lear...

Meher Baba

I am very fond of the teacher Meher Baba, who blended teachings of Sufism, Hinduism and Christianity. Meher Baba was really popular among young people in the West in the 1960s. He specifically ministered to the hippie generation, explaining that drugs were not the answer. When a teacher like Ramakri...

Re: Theosophy and Helena Blavatsky

Other than the afterlife, there are similarities between the Urantia Book and Theosophy.

Re: Theosophy and Helena Blavatsky

All I am asking is if you see the similarities between what the Urantia Book teaches regarding the afterlife and what New Age/Hinduism/etc. teaches regarding reincarnation as a path of spiritual development. I look at what new agers are getting at and then, like the Urantia Book, apply it to an inte...

Re: Theosophy and Helena Blavatsky

I think we might be having a difference of semantics. Beginning a new life on a mansion world, the life later ending, and then being re-personalized on the next mansion world would be moving from one lifetime to another. The purpose from one mansion world to the next is the further development of th...

Re: Theosophy and Helena Blavatsky

The way I understand it, the Urantia Book teaches reincarnation, but on an interplanetary scale, an interplanetary reincarnation. So when I look at other books that teach reincarnation, I see that as having only partial knowledge of what the Urantia Book more fully reveals about the next life. Eithe...

Re: Theosophy and Helena Blavatsky

Are there any spiritual teachers or books that teach reincarnation that you otherwise benefit from despite their teaching reincarnation?

Re: The Urantia Book and the Book of Mormon

After reading, watching videos, and giving it much thought, I've realized why I can never be a Mormon. If you must tithe ten percent of your income no matter what, including workers' comp, unemployment benefits, and Social Security, even when you don't have enough money for groceries or electricity,...

Re: Theosophy and Helena Blavatsky

I like their approach to truth, to follow your intellect and heart rather than outside human authorities. In the beginning of the Secret Doctrine, Blavatsky basically says keep what works for you and leave the rest.

Re: Theosophy and Helena Blavatsky

Another similarity I forgot to mention is the Blavatsky and the Urantia Book both focus a great deal on the origin of human races. What explains these similarities that I've mentioned so far, and others that may come to mind later? Is it just by meaningless coincidence, did one borrow from the other...

Theosophy and Helena Blavatsky

Can someone please tell me about their experience of reading books related to Theosophy, such as the writings of Helen Blavatsky or Alice Bailey? There are some similarities between Theosophy and the Urantia Book, such as belief in a celestial hierarchy, the spark of the divine within, spiritual evo...

Re: The Spiritual Tempest of Bill Cosby

Don't get me wrong, I take the crime of rape very seriously. If Cosby is proved guilty, I'd be the first person to say lock him up and let him die in prison. But as an American citizen, Cosby deserves the presumption of innocence until proven guilty, so I don't really want to have a debate on his su...

The Spiritual Tempest of Bill Cosby

This article looks at the recent allegations against Bill Cosby from a spiritual viewpoint: What if he is guilty? Among many other things there may be a feeling of relief. Some criminologists speculate that criminals often wittingly or otherwise leave clues which lead to their apprehension because t...

Re: Astral City: A Spiritual Journey

Matt Fraser is a twenty year old psychic medium and former EMT who is, to me, the sincerest and most compelling psychic medium that I've seen: https://www.youtube.com/user/SimplyPsychic/videos I think that Urantia Book readers need to come to grips with the fact that the sleeping subject was, for al...

What do you think of how the Urantia Book says the dead do not contact people still living on this earth? Maybe I am misinterpreting it.

Astral City: A Spiritual Journey

Astral City: A Spiritual Journey Online http://www.hulu.com/watch/364775/astral-city-a-spiritual-journey This film, based on the visionary experiences of Chico Xavier, is surprisingly similar to the mansion worlds as described in the Urantia Book. Though there are some obvious differences, I wonder ...

Doesn't ACIM teach reincarnation as well? Many Urantia Book readers also read ACIM and the CwG books, despite disagreeing with them in certain aspects.

Re: Conversations with God?

I am only half way through the book, but here are some similarities, and I might think of more later. Even though Walsch's vocabulary does not include the morontial life, he does say that the purpose of the afterlife is to continue our spiritual development until we've realized our oneness with God....

Re: The Urantia Book and the Book of Mormon

The videos are very simple yet informative. They were made by an old lady whose family has been LDS for several generations. She's been reading the Urantia Book since the late 1960s. I've never been to a Mormon church service and I've never read the Book of Mormon, but I've watched lots of Youtube v...
